This mostly depends on the type of application you filed. There are two kinds of applications: online applications and paper applications, and the process can differ depending on which one you filled out. Canadian Visa Expert can help you with the application process.

Online applications

If you filled out your visa application online, you can sign into your account on the Canadian immigration agency’s website to check the status.

Once you are signed in, you can go to “view my submitted applications,” and then click to check your status and see any messages. If you applied for an eTA online, you can also check the status online.

Paper applications

If you filled out a paper visa application, you may still be able to check the status online by using the Canadian immigration agency’s online tool, Canadian Visa Expert has learned. It is updated daily and you can then link your paper application to it.

Once logged in, you will be able to see the real-time status of your application and any messages about your application. It should be noted that not everyone who submits a paper application will be able to check their status online.
